A
Depending on the type of cleft and any cosmetic work needed, a patient can have up to 20 operations

What other parts of the body can a cleft lip and palate affect?
A
It can affect the eyes and forehead as well as anything in the central lines of the body such as the heart

When do babies with a cleft start having surgery?
A
It is dependent on the type of cleft, the cleft team and if any other conditions are affected. If a baby is developing and feeding well s/he can have their first surgery at around 12 weeks old
