Uses hydriodic acid (HI), and red phosphorous to produce meth oil; meth oil is converted to meth hydro-chloride using HCL gas.
What is a Birch Reduction or “Nazi” lab?
Uses anhydrous ammonia, and lithium or sodium metal, to produce methamphetamine oil- Meth oil is converted to methamphetamine hydro-chloride using HCL gas.
What chemicals does the “One pot” or “Shake-n-bake” method use?
Ephedrine or pseudo-ephedrine is the precursor; a jug, bottle, or similar apparatus can be used to synthesize the product
What chemicals are used in the Red Phosphorous or Hydriodic Acid Method?
Ephedrine or pseudo-ephedrine is the precursor. Red phosphorous or iodine, or hydriodic acid are used in the reaction process.
What action should u take when a clandestine lab is discovered as a first responder?
- Recognize a clandestine lab, lab supplies or lab waste site;
- Implement actions to protect yourself and the public
- Secure the scene and call for qualified help.
