Cockpit Preparation Flow (LP) - Trigger: Completion of POWER ON Checklist or completion of Post Flight Flow and preparing for subsequent flight

  1. Circuit Breakers (CBP-1) - Check
  2. Cockpit Phone - Check
  3. Crash Ax - Stowed
  4. Flashlight - Check
  5. OXYGEN MASK - Check (do not remove mask, Y-S-M-t-Y-S-B” _Y_oke push-to-talk=I/C, audio panel _S_PKR=in, press-_T_est, then reverse what did on audio panel. B is Boom/Mask switch)
  6. Flashlight - Check
  7. Life Vest - Check (PFD is present, inspected by maintenance)
  8. Circuit Breakers (CBP-3) - Check
  9. STALL PROT PUSHER - ON

  1. AC POWER - Check (gen 1 & 2 off, apu gen on if running. autoxfer lights out)
  2. ESS POWER - Extinguished
  3. AC/DC UTILITY - Extinguished/Out

  5. HYDRAULIC- Test / Set (all forward, to test set 3A to off and pump outline is white in synoptic page, then all switch forward to set)
  6. EXTERNAL LTS - Set
  7. LANDING LTS - OFF
  8. RECOG TAXI LTS - OFF
  9. L & R ENG - Extinguished
  10. IGNITION - Extinguished
  11. L & R BOOST PUMP - INOP
  12. XFLOW - Test / Extinguished (
    1. L TO AUX and GRAVITY press; both lighted
    2. R TO AUX press; both L TO AUX and R TO AUX not illuminated (side pumps cancel each other if both on).
    3. All switches out and not illuminated.

Memory Aid: 14th stage L ISOL is in and directly below in 10th stage, APU LCV and ISOL are both in too.

  2. L & R COWL - Extinguished
  3. ANTI-ICE TEST - Accomplish (SUPP GND WING ANTI-ICE system on for test.)
    1. ​Test - Wing (hold): 2 audio (3 Chimes, “Wing Overheat”), MASTER WARNING, 2 EICAS messages (WING OVHT and WING A/I TEST OK”) with L & R HEAT (green lights).
    2. Test - Det (hold): 1 audio (1 chime), MASTER CAUTION, 1 EICAS message (ICE).
    3. L & R Cowl - On: EICAS: L & R COWL A/ICE (extinguished).
  4. L & R WSHLD/WIND - Test / As required (leave off unless conditions require (e.g., fogging or icing))
    1. ​L & R WSHLD / WIND - HI
    2. TEST - press and hold
    3. EICAS messages (4): L & R WSHLD HEAT OK, L & R WINDOW HEAT OK.
  5. L & R PROBES - OFF
  6. PASS SIGNS - ON
  7. EMER LTS - Test / ARM
  8. Standby Compass - Check

  9. THERAPEUTIC OXYGEN - Extinguished
  10. OXYGEN MASK - Check (same as other side)
  11. Fire Extinguisher - Check
  12. Flashlight - Check (second flashlight)
  13. Circuit Breakers (CBP-2) - Check

  1. GND SPOILERS - AUTO
  2. L & R THRUST REVERSER - ARMED (EICAS messages (2): L & R REV ARMED)
  3. L & R EMER STOW UNLK - Extinguished
  4. PITCH DISC - Stowed
  5. NOSE STEER - OFF
  6. HORN - Extinguished
  7. ANTI SKID - ARMED
  8. MLG BAY OVHT TEST - Check
    1. OVHT switch (hold): 2 audio (3 chimes, “GEAR BAY OVERHEAT”), Master Warning, EICAS message (MLG BAY OVHT). Release switch.
    2. FAIL switch (hold): 1 chime, Master Caution, EICAS message (MLG OVHT FAIL). Release switch.
  9. TAWS WARNING - Extinguished
  10. FLIGHT SPOILER - 0
  11. Thrust Levers - SHUT OFF
  12. APR - ARM
  13. VIB - Test (hold switch in test, VIB icon displayed at L & R N2 display. FAN VIB readout of 3.5 or VIB icon displayed on N1 gauges. VIB switch off.
  14. L & R ENG SPEED - ON
  15. AURAL WARN TEST - Test (select 1 or 2 to activate. To cancel audio reselect 1 or 2).
  16. SPS TEST - Test (hold. Don’t do this test during fueling)
    1. ​STAB - 0.0° (select STAB TRIM CH 1 then trim nose down until 0.0° indicated.
    2. Select FLT synoptic page.
    3. L & R SPS TEST - Both switches to TEST to see EICAS message (STALL FAIL). SPS test indicators below audio panel (needle sweeps counterclockwise to blue band, then IGNITION A, B and CONT ON light up on overhead panel, EICAS messages (IGNITION A and B). At yellow band, stick shakers are active. At red band stick pushers are activated, STALL flashes on both PFDs with audible stall warning. Yoke’s AP/SP DISC - press and hold to move yoke and disable push function. Release the switch on yoke and push is reactivated (check this from both seats).
    4. G Switch - Hold switch to TEST (stick pushers deactivated. Release switch and pusher reactivated).
    5. Release L & R SPS TEST switches.
  17. SMOKE DETECT TEST - Test
  18. LAMP TEST - Test
  19. AIL TRIM - Test
  20. RUD TRIM - Test
  21. STAB TRIM - Test / SET
    1. ​STAB TRIM CH 1 - Press lightswitch
    2. MACH TRIM - Press lightswitch
    3. Check pitch trim on yoke for both directions
    4. On right side Yoke press STAB TRIM DISC (Master Caution and 2 EICAS messages (STAB TRIM & MACH TRIM)). Verify trim switch won’t move stab.
    5. ​STAB TRIM CH 2 - Press lightswitch
    6. MACH TRIM - Press lightswitch
    7. Check pitch trim on yoke for both directions
    8. On left side Yoke press STAB TRIM DISC (Master Caution and 2 EICAS messages (STAB TRIM & MACH TRIM)). Verify trim switch won’t move stab.
    9. STAB TRIM CH 1, CH 2 & MACH TRIM - Press
    10. Turns off EICAS messages (STAB TRIM & MACH TRIM)
    11. Now set stab trim for departure.

  23. Reversion Panel - Check
  24. MANUAL RELEASE LANDING GEAR - Stowed
  25. ADG Deploy Handle - Stowed
  26. ADG AUTO DEPLOY CONTROL - Test
