What must you do if the airplane is cold soked below -33°C (EIS)
The airplane must be preheated prior to conducting a battery start. A GPU must be used for the first engine start between -33°C and -40°C
If the battery is cold soked below -18°C what must you do?
It must be preheated above -18°C before engine start.
What is the minimum oil temperature for engine start (indicated on the EIS)
-40°C
What is the maximum airport elevation for ground battery start and external power start.
14,000’
What is the minimum battery voltage for engine start.
24 V DC
What is the minimum and maximum external power current for engine start.
800/1100 amps
What are the starter cycle limitations?
Three engine starts per 30 minutes. Three cycles of operation with a 60 second rest period Between cycles is permitted.
What are the three battery limitations for engine start
• three engine starts in one hour.
• Three generator assisted cross starts are equal to one battery start.
• if an external power unit is used for start, no battery cycle is counted.
Engine temperature (ITT) limits during start (15 seconds)
