Galveston was weakly defended, Union demands total surrender. The union didn’t write down the truce. Confederate flees with all supplies. No casualties.

The Union accidentally gets stuck on a sandbox and blows up their own gun powder trying to flee themselves, but kills their general and others.

Battle of Sabine Pass

The Union sent four gunboats filled with troops to the Sabine River to take over the Confederate, (Port Griffon Sabine Pass) to begin their occupation of Texas. The Confederacy spent hours practicing. Confederacy sinks Union ships forcing others to retreat. (This keeps Union out of Texas)

“America’s deadliest war” is over after Lee who believe he could still fight finally agrees to a surrender after finding out the Union captured a confederate train full of hungry troops. -Confederacy was losing success, men, and supplies. The Union fed Lees hungry troops.

Battle of Palmito Ranch

(THE CONFEDERACY WON)
The Union and Confederacy armies made an agreement that there will be no more fighting along with the Rio Grande in Texas.This deal lasted two months. Until the Union attacked the Confederacy. Both sides asked for reinforcements. When the Confederacy reinforcements arrived, the Union retreated. The south technically won a battle they lost. This is the last battle of the civil war.
