Promised to set up the fair employment practise committee (FECP). It found widespread discrimination in all industries. As a result many companies improved their policies to black workers.
What did Truman do in 1954?
Truman’s government declared that all education boards had to end segregation in schools.
What did Eisenhower do in December of 1956?
The bus boycott led to Eisenhower’s Supreme Court ruling that segregation on busses, like education was also illegal.
What did Eisenhower do in September 1957?
Passed a civil rights act to ensure all African Americans could exercise their right to vote.
