Q

How did the Great migration improve the lives of African Americans?

A

North meant improved living conditions for individual black people: less lynching, few jim crow laws, more political influcne, more jobs and better pay. (were negative effects too) On a larger scale the Great Migration allowed black communities and culture to form, black race consciousness to form, and arguably laid the foundation for the civil rights movement. Harlem renaissance helps to undermine barriers between races.
