Men =
A
- Men are strong and violent and often associated with the drug trade
- Men are depicted as the more powerful gender
- They are able to keep this dominance through weapons and gangs.

Women =
A
- Having a women can be seen as a sign of weakness, as seen when Bene is criticised for his girlfriend
- Women are seen as sexual predators, eg. Rocket and the reporter; and Dona Zelia and Big Boy
- None of the drug dealers are female and therefore powerless
- Men seek sexual gratification through rape which allows a strong hold over women. It is a derogatory representation of what is a female
- Women are underrepresented and discriminated against, frequently objectified and believing men are able to take women as they are inferior to men
- This is reinforced by how men are uninvolved in the gang culture

- The stereotypical depiction of men in non developed countries
- A clear imbalance between the genders
- The effect that gender plays in life
- ## The behaviour that we see reinforces violent steroetypes and how men are able to use violence to remain powerful

- The older characters see children as weak and forcing them to do their dirty work, and takes pleasure from terrorising the children
- The children are involved within the gangs and are stuck there
