What is legal status and how does it contribute to citizenship?
A
- In Article 15 of Singapore’s constitution, it states that there is a freedom of religion, where each person has the right to practice their religion.
- Citizens feel a sense of assurance that the state will protect their basic rights to living well in the country, and feel belonged to the country.

How the sense of identity contribute to citizenship
A
- Singaporeans identify watching yearly celebrations for National Day, where we will ballot for tickets to watch the live parade, turn up in red shirts and wave the national flag.
- By atending and watching the yearly celebrations, it forges that bond between all Singaporeans, regardless of our background, to recognize that we have found a community in this country.

How does shared values contribute to citizenship?
A
- In the Covid-19 crisis, Singaporeans recognised the value of looking out for one other and helping each other stay safe from the virus. Many individuals placed hand sanitisers in lifts, gave out masks at MRT stations and sewed masks for others as well. The collective sense of unitedness in helping one another is developed.

How does civic participation contribute to citizenship?
A
- In 2021, a Singaporean family, Asanul Fariq, set up a free minimart outside their HDB flat, offering grocery products to people in need, such as rice, milo and canned goods. This also led more to come forward to contribute as well.
- Such initiatives connect members of society together, allowing individuals to contribute to bettering the lives of others.
