what do arteries do
carry blood away from the heart. have thick muscular walls because they are under a lot of pressure
what do veins do
veins carry blood to the heart. They have valves to stop blood flowing backwards
what do capillaries do
allow substances to flow through the walls in to the body. they are only one cell thick
what does the heart do
the heart pumps the blood around the body to two places the lungs and all around the body
what is plasma
it is the main component of of blood and is mainly made up of water
what side of the heart has which type of blood
right side is un-oxygenated left side is oxygenated
