Circulation. Flashcards
What does the posterior spinal artery supply?
Dorsal funiculus of spinal cord and posterior portion of medulla.
What does the anterior spinal artery supply?
The lateral and anterior funiculi of the spinal cord and anterior portion of medulla.
What are the symptoms of a posterior spinal artery injury?
Diminished vibration sequence.
What are the symptoms of an anterior spinal artery injury?
Lack of sensation and paralysis below level of occlusion.
What does the anterior inferior cerebellar artery supply?
Dorsolateral pons, anterior/inferior surface of cerebellar cortex, middle cerebral pundicle.
What are the symptoms of an anterior inferior cerebellar artery injury?
Ipsilateral cerebellar signs (ataxic gate, posture and balance deficits, intention tremor, nystagmus.
What do the pontine arteries supply?
The Pons
What are the symptoms of as pontine artery injury?
Paralysis and loss of sensation of face, body, and limbs. May effect eye movements and cause diplopia.
What does the superior cerebellar artery supply?
Superior surface of cerebellum and superior cerebellar peduncle.
What happens during an injury of the superior cerebellar artery?
Ipsilateral cerebellar signs.
What does the posterior cerebral artery supply?
Thalamus, midbrain, occipital lobe, medial portions of parietal and temporal lobes.
What are the symptoms of a posterior cerebral artery injury?
Complete or partial blindness in half of the field of vision. Contralateral somatosensory loss, memory deficits.
What does the middle cerebral artery supply?
Lateral surface of frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes; insula.
What are the symptoms of a middle cerebral artery injury?
Deficits can include: contralateral paralysis and sensory loss, abnormal voluntary eye movements, apraxia, aphasia, partial blindness.
What does the anterior cerebral artery supply?
Medial surface of parietal and frontal lobes.
