ATC
2
Q
After initial visual contact, the:
A
Runway environment must be kept in sight.

Q
The aircraft must be maintained within:
A
The defined circling area at all times

Q
During a circling approach, descent below MDA may only occur when:
A
- The aircraft is within the circling area
- Visibility is maintained along the intended flight path, not less than that required for circling.
- Visual contact is maintained within the runway environment
- The aircraft is established in the traffic pattern to a position from which a continuous descent to the landing threshold can be made, using normal rates of descent and normal manoeuvres which will allow a landing to occur within the touchdown zone of the runway.

Q
Missed Approach Procedure While Circling.
If visual reference to land is lost whilst carrying out a circling approach from an instrument approach procedure:
A
The MAP for that particular approach must be followed.
It is expected the pilot will make an initial climbing turn toward the landing runway until overhead the airport when the pilot will establish the aircraft in the MAP track.
