- Usually used to highlight feelings and action

- Just above head, full screen, often shoulders too
- Popular for expression shots and to identify objects

- MCU
- Bust/chest shot- cuts body at lower chest
- Very popular with interview shots, news reader etc.

- MS/Mid-shot
- Waist shot- cuts body just below the waist.
- Very popular with shots of more than one person
- Two people in one shot: Medium 2 Shot

Medium Long Shot
A
- MLS
- Between full shot and medium shot
- Shows subject from knees up
- Often used in walking shots (although feet are usually out of shot).

Long Shot / Wide Shot
A
- LS
- Person occupies 3/4 to 1/3 of screen
- Used when full body shots need to be covered
- Character more of a focus than ELS
- Dominated by the scenery

- Used to shows the subject from a distance, or the area in which the scene is taken place
- Full body with extra head room
- Often used as an establishing shot for a location

- Set the scene of the action
