What should you do for Law student inquiries?
Make sure to add the law student’s name, student ID# and Suffolk email address in the appointment notes
* Admin can send a confirmation email as needed
CPT
International students with an F-1 visa can participate in professional, temporary employment (paid or unpaid) such as an internship, co-op program, practicum etc., before they complete their degree
Must be degree related
When do you create a CPT appointment?
- a student has all of their CPT application documents ready (offer letter from company + completed CPT application form with their faculty/program advisor signature) and is ready to submit the application to ISSO
What should you do for General Study Abroad inquiries?
*Create an appointment
*Encourage students to attend Study Abroad Info session before appointment
*Email confirmation should include Getting Started PDF
I-20 Issuance/Signature
*Email isso@suffol.edu to sign form electronically (1-3 business days)
*Enrolled in 12 credits
*Can ask an advisor to sign if they’re available
*students will ask for an updated I-20 signature before they travel home for the summer, winter, and spring breaks
*Schedule an appointment only if a student needs to review travel requirements
When do you create a OPT appointment?
Temp employment authorization for F-01 visa students
* Must be major related
Visa/Immigration appointment
Normally not used
Leave of Absence; Transfer Out; Withdrawal
Confirm they’ve connected with Student Affairs
Create appointment; ISSO will need to review and sign paperwork; need to provide acceptance letter and transfer release form from new school
