What form of church government does the Baptist church have and why?
Congregational and/or a civil government. Scriptures indicate that this type of government, as revealed in scriptures is of divine appointment and for the interest and goodwill for society.
Should a pastor care for the sheep instead of shearing the sheep?
The duty of a pastor includes both shepherding and shearing. Shearing is a beneficial process for both the pastor (shepherd) and the congregation (sheep). The disciplining, encouraging and rebuking of the sheep ready them for kingdom service.

Pastor, deacon/deaconess, Articles of Faith
The role of the pastor as the under shepherd of the flock?
He serves as the feeder, protector and presides over the local congregation that he has been given governance of.
Why is a Baptist church called autonomous?
Autonomy is based on NT biblical truths. Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through a democratic process whereas; each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord includes pastoral leadership.
Why is the pastor the commander in chief by virtue of his/her call?
He is given divine authority from God by virtue of his calling. In that regard, he is to operate fully in the calling through the utilization of spiritual gifts. (Heb. 13:7; 1 Tim. 5:17; Heb. 13:24).
What authority and power is granted to the pastor?
The pastor receives authority and power granted through his local church body. Additionally, the pastor gains true authority from God and the Holy Spirit through call and calling are affirmed by the church and its people.

Often when a spiritual leader/pastor is being critiqued or put under the spotlight for wrongdoing, these passages often surface as to never be challenged, rebuked, held to account, or criticized. It is about keeping proper context and balance of situation and person. This unbiased steadiness will prove not to swing the pendulum too far left or right for or against leaders.

Membership is open to anyone who is seeking to live a healthy life through adhering to God’s ordinances
What is the Absalom Spirit?
An appealing, deceiving, sly, treacherous but subtle. This type of person is a usurper and often brings confusion and bedlam to under the guise of being compassionate.
Why should the church honor its pastor?
Paul wrote pastors are “worthy of double honor.” It is not as so much as to who the person is but mainly for what he does and the call that is placed on him for that congregation. Since the role of a pastor involves the mission and welfare of the local church, therefore immense respect should be given for the pastoral under-shepherd role. This intrinsically includes willingness to submit to his God-given leadership. 1 Tim. 5:17-18, I Thessalonians 5:12,13
Who is the spiritual and administrative head of the church, and why?
The pastor serves as the spiritual and administrative leader of the church. His role exists to provide stability and structure in accordance to his calling.
What is a Korah Spirit?
The negative attitude Korah held regarding the Moses and Aaron, the leadership of the children of Israel. He along with others wanted to overthrow Moses and Aaron because he believed he was more qualified than Moses and he should be directing Israel.
What is the role of the associate minister?
To respect and assist the pastoral leadership in a diverse ways (preaching, teaching, worship, etc.) according to the congregational need and individual spiritual gifting.
