Q
Pathophysiology of Myasthenia Gravis
A
Acetylcholine receptor antibodies impair receptor function at the neuromuscular junction, causing muscle weakness, most often in proximal muscles
there is a marked decrease in the number and function of the muscle fiber acetylcholine receptors, despite normal nerve anatomy and function.
Failure to respond to acetylcholine stimulation causes decreased muscle fiber potential amplitudes, leading to decreased muscle strength.
