Maintenance therapy

A
  1. SABA
  2. SABA + Low dose ICS

  4. Add in LABA, salmeterol or formoterol
  5. Inhaled corticosteroid + LABA (MART)
  6. Trial LAMA (tiotropium) or m/r theophylline

When would a step-up in treatment be necessary?

A

Using inhaler or symptomatic 3x a week.
Night time symptoms 1x a week
Asthma attack requiring systemic steroids in the last 2 years.
