- Victoria Harrison
- Lynn White Jr
- Sallie McFague
when talking about Christians as stewards/dominion over animals and the environment?

Lynn White Jr - environmental crisis is shaped by christianity, particularly due to the belifef that humans have dominion over the environment as a whole

Q

When talking about the idea of stewardship what Principle is applicable here?

A
  • Augustine’s Principle of Plenitude

All forms of existence that are possible within the universe will exist somewhere> Augustine stated a universe with many species is better than a universe with only one because having a huge variety of species shows the depth of God’s power

On this kind of approach, humans are therefore just one of an infinite range of entities. If the entire environment belongs to God, then stewardship must be of the entire environment, and not just of humans and others animals
