How will Christians worship?
alone, together, in private, at church, anywhere really.
What day does a Christians weekly worship fall on? Why?
Sunday. It is the Sabbath.
Why do Christians worship?
To praise and thank God, ask for forgivness, seek God’s help, to improve their relationship with God or to live a more Christian life.
What kind of worship follows a set pattern each time?
liturgical worship.
What happens in a liturgical church service?
A priest will lead people in formal prayers which have set responses.
Bible passages will be read out.
There may be a sermon.
There is often hymns sung by the choir or chanting by the priest.
Christians alo worship ________________. This is when there is no set structure or order of ritual.
Non-liturgically
What is informal worship?
When a it depends on people’s spontaneous thoughts or prayers. It is often said to be ‘led by the spirirt’.
What does informal worship involve?
dancing, clapping, calling out and speaking in tongues.
What is private worship? What does it involve?
It allows individuals to spend time with God, either alone or with close friends and family. It may involve prayer, meditation, studying or meditating on a Bible passage.
