Trinity
One God, three equal persons. Father (Creator), Son (incarnate), Holy Spirit (invisible force). ‘Three-in-one’, unique roles. In Lord’s Prayer, Nicene Creed, Apostles Creed. Three characteristics, to understand God.
Creation
Literalist, Bible true (‘word of God’), in 6 days, science wrong, at his ‘Word’. Non-literalist, metaphorical for longer, no scientific conflict. Proof God exists.
Incarnation
Word became Flesh, God human in Jesus (Son). Christ sent as Saviour, saved from sin, in Trinity. Divine, omnipotent/omniscient, miracles, worshipped. Human, human mother, died, emotions, prayed.
Last days of Jesus’ life
The Passion, Last Supper, betrayal/arrest, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, shows Son of God, proof of afterlife, saved humanity, shows sacrifice, the Eucharist (bread/wine).
Salvation
Salvation, saved from sin. Atonement, God forgiving. Redemption, achievement. Jesus sacrifice saved from sin. Saved relationship between God. Victory over evil, price being paid. Follow example, confirm belief.
Life after death
Death not end, resurrected (like Jesus). Soul immortal, saved heaven, unsaved hell, Catholic purgatory. God decides justly. Salvation, if not ‘Last Judgement’. Heaven spiritual/physical, hell unrepentant, unsaved.
Evil and suffering
Types moral/natural, God omnipotent/omnibenevolent/omniscient, evil exists, cares for Creation but suffering exists, Inconsistent Triad. Responses, Book of Psalms (follow example), example of Job (rewarded), free will, charity, prayer.
