Anuria
absence of the production of urine; occur w/ renal failure
Uremia
urine in the blood; occur w/ renal failure
Diuresis
increase in urine production; pt goes to the bathroom more freq; usu bc of meds or caffeine
Dysuria
difficult/painful urination (usu d/t infection) UTI
Enuresis
involuntary discharge of urine (children and infants)
guys have enuresis longer than girls
Hematuria
blood in the urine; UTI can cause bleeding in the tissue. Kidney stones can make you bleed in the tubes
Nocturnal Enuresis
bed wetter; boys tend to do it longer
Oliguria
only a small amount of urine was produced (scanty)
Polyuria
increase in urine production but the pt doesn’t go to the bathroom more freq, they just have an increase in the volume of urine excreted when they go
Incontinence
uncontrollable urine excretion. Can’t hold it. (pregnant women in the 3rd trimester, older/elderly)
Retention
when urine is retained in the bladder and not excreted all the way
