Wages ADVANTAGES
1 Worker gets paid regularly

Wages disadvantages
1 Need to calculated —> Takes time and money therefore a wage clerk is hired
Time rate DISADVANTAGES
1 Good worker and Bad worker are paid the same.
2 A supervisor is required to ensure that quality products are being produced, which takes time and money.
3 Relied on a clocking system to determine no. of hours of employees
4 Time sheet takes time to fill out
Piece rate DISADVANTAGES
1 Workers ignore quality, Producing poor quality products. This ruins reputation of business thus expansive quality control is required.
2 If machines break, no work, no pay
3 More careful workers earn less than worker who rushes causing conflicts
Salaries
1 Some workers prefer to be paid weekly
2 No payment for extra time
Bonuses
1 Can become expected , so if not paid due to a bad year. Employees can become disappointed
2 If only small no. of workers are given bonuses, some employees can feel bad
Commission LIMITATIONS
1 Sales staff could be persuasive and get people to by products they so not want, giving the business a bad reputation
2 It can be stressful, if sales staff had a bad year, less commission
3 Might be to much competition between sales staff
Fringe Benefits
In addition to financial rewards eg. Senior manager will get a company car

Job rotation
Involves swapping workers around, having them do simple tasks for a limited amount of time
Job enrichment
Involves the addition to tasks that require more responsibility
