Moved the capital from Nanjing to Bejing and reopened the Grand Canal. Built the Forbidden City.

Grandson to Genghis Khan, was the first Mongolian to rule China.

Emperess Regnant. Took power after the death of her lover, Emperor Taizong, and greatly advanced the position of women in Chinese society.
Emperor Gaozu
Emperor Gaozu began the Han dynasty and introduced Confucianism into Chinese government. He was a peasant, became a military leader and then emperor from 202 - 195 BCE.

Last emperor of the Qing dynasty. Forced to abdicate the throne is 1912 and China became a republic.

First Chinese emperor to unite all smaller kingdoms in 221 BCE. Built the first version of the Great Wall.
