Which is an angina attack
Angina is pain in the chest
Caused by arteries in the heart become narrowed and restrict blood flow.
Symptoms of angina
-dull pain in chest and in jaw/arms
-shortness with breath
-sudden tiredness
-Anxious
What to do for angina?
1)Sit them down in a bent position
2)Ask if they have angina medication and help administer it.
3)If pain is still present after 5 minutes, ask them to take a second dose.
4)If pain still there then see steps for a heart attack and call 999
What is a heart attack?
Supply of blood is blocked by a clot.
Symptoms of heart attack
-Pain in their chest and jaw/arms
-Breathless
-sweating profusely.
-Collapse
-dizziness
-pale skin and blue lips
-sense of impending doom
What to do for a heart attack?
1)Call 999
2)Help casualty to the bent position
3)give them a aspirin tablet (300mg) except if they are <16 or allergic.
4)keep monitoring level of response until help arrives.
