Anterior mediastinal mass- thymoma

A
  • Large lobulated mass within the upper thorax
  • Sattelite nodules.
  • Compresses the SVC and encases the innominate vein.
  • Multiple venous collaterals.
  • Large bilateral pleural effusions.
  • Mild pericardial effusions.

Differential

  • Lymphoma
  • Teratoma
  • Thyroid

Managemement

1) Referral to cardiothoracics
2) Imaging- MRI and biopsy( surgical or radiology)
3) Measure anti-bodies-
