Chemistry Flashcards
1
Q
what is the difference between compounds and mixtures?
A
mixtures and made up of elements and compounds that are not chemically combined and compounds are chemically combined elements.
2
Q
what are the 2 types of mixtures and what is the difference?
A
in Heterogeneous mixtures, the components are visually distinguishable like rocks. homogeneous mixtures look uniform throughout, and you cant see the components like air and steel.
3
Q
3 examples of physical properties and 3 example of chemical properties
A
chemical: combustibility, reactivity with oxygen, reactivity with air.
physical: conductivity, state of matter, melting and boiling point.
