Involves changes in the state of matter

What is it called when a solid becomes a liquid?
Melting
What is it called when a liquid becomes a Gas?
Vaporisation
What is it called when a gas becomes a liquid?
Condensation
What is it called when a liquid becomes a solid?
Freezing
What are the properties of a solid?
They are hard, have a defined shape, and a defined volume they occupy
What are the properties of a liquid?
They are free-flowing, and take up the shape of a the container they are held in
What are the properties of a Gas?
They have no shape at all, and will spread out to occupy the whole volume of a container
What does a chemical change involve?
Change in the chemical composition of something
How is a chemical change undergone?
Through a process called a chemical reaction
