It will melt or boil at a specific temperature (compare to data book)

Lower the melting point
Increase the boiling point

A mixture with an exact amount of components
Have a precise purpose
What are formulations important for ?
Pharmaceutical industry

What is the test for oxygen?
Put a glowing splint in a tube and it will relight the glowing splint.
What is the test for chlorine?
It bleaches damp litmus paper, turns it white
What is the test for CO2?
Shaking CO2 and limewater makes the solution cloudy.
What is the test for hydrogen?
Hold a burning splint over the end of a test tube and it will squeaky pop.
