B: Front edge of ventral fin on inboard aileron cutout on opposite wing
C: Pitot tube on prop arc
VMC away
A: Lower fuselage on horizon (spinner on horizon)
B: Lower UHF antenna in vertical line with opposite aileron cutout (with a gap)
C: CFS door tangent to trailing edge of wing
Wing matches lead’s AOB
IMC away
A: Exhaust stack visible and tangent to leading edge of lead’s wing
B: UHF antenna over inboard aileron cutout on opposite wing
C: Pitot tube on prop arc
IMC turn into
A: Exhaust stack visible and tangent to leading edge of lead’s wing
B: UHF antenna over inboard aileron cutout on opposite wing
C: Pitot tube on prop arc
Crossunder
A: Exhaust stack visible and below leading edge of lead’s wing
B: Lower UHF over dihedral bend on opposite wing
C: Re-establish parade (pitot tube on prop arc)
Lead change
A: initially (pitot tube on orange and white)
B: parade
C: parade
Break up
A: Lead’s aircraft on horizon
B: Lead’s vertical stabilizer bisecting opposite wing
C: 200 KIAS set prior to saying “11,12 ready”
Join Up
A: Step down
B: Nose well behind lead’s tail
C: move out like a J; add power, climb move in to VMC away
VMC AWAY:
A: Lead’s fuselage on horizon
B: UHF in vertical line with opposite aileron cutout
C: CFS door tangent with trailing edge of wing
