CHD S/S Flashcards
Asymptomatic. Stystolic ejection murmur. Diastolic flow murmur. No cyanosis. RV heave. Cardiomegaly.
Atrial Septal Defect
Tachypnea. Poor feeding, diaphoresis, cough, FTT. Not cyanotic. Reguritant, holo cystolic murmur.
Ventricular Septal Defect
Continuous, machine like murmur. Maximal at 2nd L ICS. Brisk pulses with increased amplitude. FTT. tachypnea, diaphoresis.
Patent Ductus arteriosis
Cyanotic newborn. More common in males
Transposition of Great Arteries.
Loud pulmonary S2. Extreme left axis deviation on EKG. Common in Kids w/ Down
Atrioventricular Septal Defect
Weak pulses in legs. BP difference upper and lower extremities. Blowing systolic murmur in back/left axilla.
Coarctation of Aorta
Hypoxemic spells. Ejection murmur at upper L sternal border
Tetralogy of Fallot
Major: Carditis, plyarthritis, sydenham chorea erthema marginatrum, subQ nodules
Minor: previous Rheumatic fever, polyarthralgia, fever, CRP or ESR
Need 2 major OR 1 major + 1 minor
Rheumatic fever
