Describe the capabilities of Chatter.
Chatter is a Collaboration Cloud that allows you to collaborate in real time in a secure way.
Uses many features available in many social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter but with the security of Salesforce.
Share information, documents, status. You can follow people and things.
What is the purpose of Chatter Groups?
Allows you to collaborate with specific people. For example, if you’re working on a team project, you can create a group for your team to share project-related files and information. Group feeds in Lightning Experience are live feeds that update in real time. They don’t require a page refresh to update.
What are the 5 types of Chatter Groups in Salesforce/
Public, Private, Unlisted, Groups with Customers, Archived
What is a Public Chatter Group?
Anyone can see and add posts, comments and files.
Anyone can join a public group.
What is Private Chatter Group?
Only group members can see and add posts, comments and files. Users must ask the group’s owner or managers to join the group. Users with the “Modify All Data” and “View All Data” permission can see group posts, updates and files across the organization. Users with the, “Manage All Data” permission can also join private groups directly and change group settings.
What is an Unlisted Chatter Group?
Only group members and users with the “Manage Unlisted Groups” permission can see and ad posts, comments, and files. People can’t ask to join the group. Group owners or managers must invite teh group members. This group offers more privacy than Private Groups.
What is a Groups with Customers Chatter Group?
Private and unlisted groups can allow customers. You can identify groups with customers by the orange upper left corner of the group photo.
What are Archived Groups in Chatter?
Some groups can be archived. When a group is archived, people can no longer create posts, but group data is retained for reference.
Organize Chatter with Chatter Topics
Topics can be primarily used in two ways:
- Inline in a chatter post by using a hashtag (e.g. #topic).
- Once topics are enabled for an object, users can add topics to records of that object. Records associated with a topic can then be viewed from the Chatter topic. Topics can also be referenced in list views on objects where topics is enabled.
Topics for Objects
You can enable Topics for Objects and from those Objects, you can cherry pick leads by adding Topics to the leads. Then you can go into the View settings, create a new view and you can create a view based on Topics.
What are Topics in Salesforce?
Topics are words or phrases that you can associate with Salesforce records to organize them around common themes. Use topics to group records by a common theme, and then use those topics to filter list views.
What are Tags in Salesforce?
Tags are words or short phrases that you can associate with most Salesforce records to describe and organize their data in a personalized way
What is Smart Search in Salesforce?
Smart Search returns additional search results within a personalized search experience.
What is Global Search in Salesforce?
Global Search is enabled with Chatter, returns personalized results, and searches more information. This is the TOP search field on the SF screen and will return MORE results than Sidebar because it indexes most custom fields and additional data. More Personalized.
What is Sidebard Search in Salesforce?
Sidebar search is present when Chatter is disabled, returns static results, and searches less information.
NOT personalized! Results will represent standard SF fields and only a selection of them.
