A
- it is the base for other theories
describes 4 cultures:
- power culture
- role culture
- task culture
- person culture

What does the POWER culture mean?
A
- power is super centralized
- big gap between the top and the others
- if you are not on the top you don’t matter
- (+) quick decision making
- (-) they can do whatever they want
- (-) dumb decisions
- (-) being sorrounded by yes men
- roles don’t matter only what the leader says
- leaders believe that they are the only ones who can complete the task

A
- specialized people
- lots of rules sorrounding
- (+) can’t break the law
- (+) less decisions, less mistakes
- (+) problem solving is easier, guidance
- (-) lots of infighting
- (-) hard to change the system, flawed

A
- focused entirely on completing tasks
- like matrix
- (+) always succeed
- (-) no idea whom to talk to
- (-) work constantly, heavy preassure
- for example: video game industry

What does the PERSON culture mean?
A
- each person is an expert
- for example: private law and doctor firms
- (+) leave them alone, work alone
- (+) quality work
- (-) experts might not be very good
- (-) hard to replace
- (-) can’t expand huge
- (-) usually expensive
- can’t really cooperate because everyone is an expert
