Charge, current, pd Flashcards
1
Q
What is current?
A
Current (I) is the rate of flow of charge. It is measured in amperes (A).
2
Q
What is charge?
A
Charge (Q) is the amount of electricity travelling through the circuit. It is measured in coulombs (C). One coulomb is defined as the charge that passes in one second when the current is 1A.
charge (Q) = current (I) x time (t)

Q
What is potential difference?
A
The potential difference (voltage) is defined as the work done in moving a unit charge between two points.
potential difference (V) = current (I) x resistance (R)
