Queen of Carthage and lover of Aeneas. Her brother, Pygmalion, killed her first husband, Sychaeus. Dido lead some people from Tyre to found Carthage in Lybia.
Turnus
Ruler of the Rutulians in Italy. Lavinia’s leading suitor.
Ascanius/Iulus
Aeneas’ son who is fated to found Alba Longa which will become Rome.
Creusa
Aeneas’ wife, Ascanius’ mother, and daughter of Priam. Lost and killed in Troy.
Sinon
A Greek who pretends to be left behind in Troy by the Greeks and persuades the Trojans to take the wooden horse into the city.
Latinus
King of the Latins and father of Lavinia
Lavinia
Latinus’ daughter. Fated to be Aeneas’ wife.
Amata
Queen of Laurentum (region of Latium) and Latinus’ wife.
Evander
King of Pallanteum (region of Arcadia) and father of Pallas

A Latin leader who wants to end the Latin-Trojan struggle
Camilla
Leader of the Volscians, a race of warrior maidens
Jurturna
Turnus’ sister

A Trojan and friend of Aeneas
Juno
Queen of the gods, wife and sister of Jupiter. Hates Trojans as the Romans are fated to defeat Carthage and Paris chose Venus over her in a beauty contest (as Venus promised Helen in marriage)

Goddess of live. Aeneas’ mother and benefactor of the Trojans. Daughter of Jupiter

God of the sea. Generally an ally of Venus and Aeneas
