When parked downhill which way should your wheel be turned?
towards the curb (or to the right)
When you are parked uphill which way should your wheels be turned?
they should be turned away from the curb (or left)
When you are parked uphill with no curb, which way should your wheels be turned?
they should be turned toward the shoulder of the road (to the right)
If you are stuck on the highway, what should you do?
pull over and turn on your hazards or any visible markers or signals to prevent harm to your vehicle and other drivers
What are the best positions to put your hands on the steering wheel?
8 and 4 o’clock or 9 and 3 o’clock and keep your thumbs turned out
What is careless driving?
driving or stopping a motor vehicle in a way that endangers the lives and safety of people or property
What is reckless driving?
driving a motor vehicle while aware of and consciously disregarding a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the driving may result in harm to another or another’s property. Example: racing or contest driving
What do you do if you are involved in a traffic crash?
- stop or try and pull out of the driving lane, or if possible onto the shoulder.
- turn off ignition
- protect yourself, warn others with emergency warning lights, flares, or flashlight
- if someone is injured call 911
