How is planned change structured?

What is micro-level planned change?
Target individuals, families, and small groups to improve and develop capacity for self-sufficiency.
Why is capacity important?
Well-being is a function of a systems capacity or capability.
What is the problem with micro-level change?
Even after the person’s needs are met; the environment and social conditions that fueled such needs remain.
Why are one-on-one services beneficial?
They help effectively change behaviour, learn new coping strategies, and change or adapt to the environment.
What is the social casework approach?
To draw from recognized bodies of practice models, conduct thorough and systematic exploration of the social environment, and use formal interview and assessment skills.
What are brief therapies?
Solution-focused therapy, focuses on strengths, and is short term.
Why are brief therapies becoming popular?
The value of efficiency and results is increased due to the changing political and economic environments.
Why are governments reluctant to intervene with families?
Families have autonomy and privacy, alongside child protection laws.
What are some reasons families may approach social agencies?
An addition to the family, separation or loss, a change in status or role, and dysfunctional behaviours.
