Chapter C3- congruency Flashcards
1
Q
Define congruency?
A
Two figures are congruent to one another if they have the same size and shape
2
Q
What are the conditions for two triangles to be congruent?
A
Only one condition needs to apply in order for the triangles to be congruent
- Three sides: Three sides of one triangle need to be equal to three sides of the other triangle
- Two angles and a side: if two angles and one side of one triangle are equal to two corresponding angles and a side of another triangle.
- Two sides and the included angle: If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are equal to two corresponding sides and the included angle of another triangle.
- Right-angled triangles: If the length of the hypoteneus and one other side of a right-angled triangle are equal to the length of the hypoteneus and a corresponding side of another right-angled triangle.
