Q

What are the conditions for two triangles to be congruent?

A

Only one condition needs to apply in order for the triangles to be congruent

  • Three sides: Three sides of one triangle need to be equal to three sides of the other triangle
  • Two angles and a side: if two angles and one side of one triangle are equal to two corresponding angles and a side of another triangle.
  • Two sides and the included angle: If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are equal to two corresponding sides and the included angle of another triangle.
  • Right-angled triangles: If the length of the hypoteneus and one other side of a right-angled triangle are equal to the length of the hypoteneus and a corresponding side of another right-angled triangle.
