What are the two main ways of creating a report?
-You can create a report via a list in ServiceNow (click a column > Pie/Bar Chart).
Note: Charts are grouped based on the selected column and if the list is filtered, then the chart only contains the filtered data.
-Go to ‘Reports’ > Create New
What are the 4 main tabs for report creation?
Data, type, configure, style
What fields exist in the ‘data’ tab?
Report name, source type (e.g. table, report source, data source), table
Note: Table needs conditions to be specified.
Note2: Source is the report source so it already has pre-set requirements which can be reused in other reports.
What does the ‘type’ tab contain?
-Different types of bar charts, pie/donuts, time series, multidimensional reports (e.g. visualize data using multiple dimensions), scores, other
What does the ‘configure’ tab contain?
-Group by conditions, aggregation (e.g. count, avg, sum), max number of groups
What does the ‘style’ tab contain?
You can tweak the visual elements of the general report, title or legend.
What does the ‘share’ button do?
You can do the following:
-Share (Me, everyone, groups/users)
-Schedule (When to execute the report and sent out an email notification to recipient)
-Add to dashboard (Choose an existing dashboard)
-Export to PDF
-Unpublish
When it comes to reporting, what are performance analytics?
-Performance analytics (PA) allows users to create dashboards with widgets to visualize data over time to identify areas of improvement.
-Users can learn to identify the metrics that matter for business objectives, using out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities and content to address measurement and reporting scenarios.
-Developing and using an analytics solution is an ongoing/iterative process that users can improve overtime.
-Review performance indicators, monitor metrics and make improvements to organizational decision-making.
-Widget: Saved view of indicator or breakdown.
-Tables: Indicator source - calculator scores.
-Data collector: Recurring jobs taking data snapshots.
-Dashboard: Custom arrangement of widgets.
