What is the top navigator bar called (has your user profile on it)?
Banner Frame
What are some of the functions on the banner frame?
-User profile contains (elevate role/impersonate user), connect sidebar, help sidebar, global search
What is elevate role?
This option is for system administrators and allows them to power up their role from their base one and it will show a lock icon once the session starts and will end if the user logs out or removes the elevated role.
What is impersonate user?
Users with impersonator roles can impersonate non-administrator users.
What is the connect sidebar?
The ‘Connect Sidebar’ (conversation icon) allows for conversation with someone else via ServiceNow for collaboration.
What is the ‘help’ sidebar?
The ‘Help’ (question mark) side bar provides user guide/documentation for the current navigation page.
What is the global navigator?
Global search (magnifying glass) allows searching for anything in the instance of ServiceNow.
Ex. INC#, TASK#, KBs.
What is the left hand bar called?
App Navigator
What tabs exist in the Application navigator?
All Applications, favorites, history
For the application navigator search bar, how do you display things as a list or a form?
To display a list, use xxx.list.
To display a form, use xxx.form
How do you add a favorite?
Click the star icon on the right hand side or drag the filter criteria directly to the favorite’s page.
What does editing a favorite do?
Change the icon/name/color of the item.
What is the main view called?
Content Frame
What are the two most common formats for displaying information in the content frame?
Lists and forms
