Fast communication, reduced costs (business doesn’t need to set up physical shop), improved decision making (use of search engines), advertising.
4 disadvantages of the internet
Easy to hack, difficult to verify accuracy of information, expensive to set up, negative online customer reviews.

Fast decision making, lower cost (no postage), can be sent and received any time of day, keep a record of information
4 disadvantages of email
Easy to spread viruses, can be sent to incorrect access (in the wrong hands), fake emails can be made to scam, spam
What is EDI
Electronic data interchange, computer to computer communication.
4 advantages of EDI
Cost effective, few human errors, quick, stock control
4 disadavanges of EDI
Expensive to set up, only cost effective to large scale businesses, not all business use EDI so not compatible, can replace staff so unhappy industrial relations
What is cloud computing
Th use of remote servers, hosted on the internet to store manage and process data
4 advantages of cloud computing
Inexpensive, convenient as business can access data from anywhere anytime, software updates carried out by server so no employees needed, data security
4 disadvantages of cloud computing
Dependant on internet so reduced productivity during outages, can be hacked, ongoing costs, difficult to change service providers
4 advantages of video conferencing
Low cost as no travel costs, quick, can have more regular meetings, conducted in real time
4 disadvantages of video conferencing
Installing can be expensive and staff may need training, technical problems, time zones, not in person face to face
4 advantages of social media
Large audience, low cost advertising, can gather customer information, customer loyalty as creates personal relationship as they can interact with business
