Sex- Biological maleness or femaleness
Gender-Maleness or femaleness, as determined by a combination of factors
What hormones do women produce? Where do they come from?
Ovaries produce: Estrogen and Progesterone
What hormones do men produce? Where do they come from?
Testes produce: Testosterone
List and describe the parts of the external female genitalia.
Mons Pubis – mound of fatty tissue covering the pubic bone
Labia Majora – 2 outer folds of tissue covering the vaginal opening
Clitoris – sensitive female sex organ
Perineum – area between the back of the vaginal opening and the anus
List and describe the parts of the internal female genitalia.
Vagina- tubular passage leading to the uterus
Uterus- where the fetus develops; also called the womb
Fallopian Tubes – Tubular passage leading from the upper portion of the uterus to each of the 2 ovaries
Ovaries – Female sex glands that produce eggs and the hormones estrogen and progesterone

Penis – male organ of sexual activity
Glans – sensitive tip of the penis
Scrotum – loose pouch of skin containing the testes
Testes – Male sex glands that produce sperm and testosterone
List and describe the parts of the internal male genitalia.
Seminiferous Tubules – Structures that make up most of the testes and produce sperm
Vas Deferens – tubes that carry the sperm from the epididymis up the ejaculatory duct
Prostate Gland – organ that produces seminal fluid
Cowper’s Gland – 2 pea-sized organs that produce pre-ejaculatory fluid
How does one go about creating a sexually healthy relationship?
