Assault Level 1
Assault
Hybrid offence with a maximum penalty of 5 years imprisonment. Involves pushing someone or threatening a person with violence
Assault Level 2
Assault with a weapon or causing bodily Harm
Hybrid offence with a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment. It involves assault with a weapon or causing bodily harm
Assault Level 3
Aggravated Assault
Aggravated assault. Indictable offence with a maximum sentence of 14 years imprisonment. It is called aggravated assault. Is defined by wounding, maiming, disfiguring, or endangering the life of a victim
Sexual Assault Level 1
Sexual Assault
Touching of a sexual nature that is not invited or consensual. The victim suffers the least physical injury
Sexual Assault Level 2
Sexual assault with a weapon, threats to a third party, or causing bodily harm
A form of sexual assault that involves the use of weapons, threats, or physical injury
Sexual Assault Level 3
Aggravated Sexual Assault
Sexual Assault that involves wounding, maiming, disfiguring, or endangering the life of a victim
Breaking and Entering
Breaking or opening something in order to enter the premises without permission with the intent to commit an indictable offence
Colour of Right
The honest belief that a person owns or has permission to use an item
Controlled Substance
Any drug listed in Schedules I to V of the controlled dugs and substances act
Culpable Homicide
A killing for which the accused can be held legally responsible
Non-Culpable Homicide
A killing for which a person cannot be held legally responsible
Disorderly House
A common bawdy, better, or gaming house
First-degree Murder
A killing that is planned and deliberate, is the result of a contract, is the result of a contract, causes the death of a peace officer, or is committed during another serious crime
Fraud
Intentionally deceiving someone in order to cause a loss property, money, or service
Homicide
