Planning Types
Strategic: Assess the business’s current status to set future goals for achieving the mission statement
Tactical: Specific actions that must be taken to follow the strategic plans
Operational: attainable, actionable, short-term goals.
Contingency: Course of action in case of a future event that derails the company’s operations

Functional: People are grouped into departments based on their expertise
Matrix: Combination of organizational structures, groups often report to multiple leaders

Democratic
Laissez- faire: hands-off management, best for teams that are highly skilled and motivated
Authoritarian: All decision-making is done by the manager, best in crisis situations that need quick decisions
Democratic: Decision making is guided by employees and managers, best during times of transition and acquire multiple inputs of advice

Transactional: Rewards and punishments are used to lead behavior
Transformational: Managers work with employees to identify change and create a new vision to aspire to
Narcissistic: Managers are self-interested at the expense of their team, useful only for groups that badly need leadership
