Cohesion, participation, communication, and empowerment.
D: Organizational culture
An organization with a set of shared believes and values that determine the behavior of the organization. Also called corporate culture.
What are the four type of cultures?
1) Clan culture
2) Adhocracy culture
3) Hierarchy culture
4) market culture
D: Clan Culture
You have your own schedule and the company just expects you to get it done in a reasonable amount of time.
D: Adhocracy culture
Have more of a formalized structure of work. Such as gmail.
D: Market Culture
- Based on productivity vs employee development. Driven by competition and a strong desire to deliver results.
D: Hierarchy culture
-internally bases and has stability. Effectiveness though many controls mechanisms. Ex- you can’t have a machine in your car production line because it will haunt production.
What are the three levels of organizational culture?
Level 1 - Observable artifacts
Level 2 - Espoused Values
Level 3 - Basic Assumption
D: Observable artifacts
How someone dresses, and physical behavior by the managers.
D: Espoused Values
Values and norms provided by an organization.
D: Basic Assumptions
This is the core values of the organizations culture. You can ask someone who works for the organization and they will tell you what they think. Often times the good things that come out of work are taken for granted.
D: symbol
And object, act, quality, or event that conveys meaning to others.
D: Story
A narrative based in true events.
D: Hero
A person who accomplishments embody the values of an organization.
D: Rites and Rituals
Planed or unplanned ceremonies that celebrate an employees accomplishments.
