What is a Norm-Reference assessment?
measures the accomplishment of one student against that of another.
What is Criterion-Referenced Assessment?
measurement of individual performance agains a set standard or criteria, not agains another student(s). Mastery learning is key element to criterion-referenced testing.
What is purpose classification?
reasons a test is given and the point at which it is given during instruction.
What is a prescriptive test?
A test given at the beginning of instruction to determine what students already know.
What is a Formative test?
ongoing, repeated assessment during a course to evaluate student progress; may also help determine any needed changes in instructional content, methods, training aids, and testing techniques.
What is a Summative Test?
Evaluation that measures students’ learning at the conclusion of a training session or course
How can test be bias?
When members of different groups with the same ability level routinely score differently on a test.
How is a test graded?
scores must be recorded and reported in accordance with AHJ.
What are the two ways students are assessed?
1) Norm-Reference
2) Criterion-Referenced Assessment
