What are major political parties + example?
Major parties are those which contest elections to form government and have significant influence over lawmaking e.g. Labor, Liberal Party
What are minor political parties + example?
Minor parties are those which gain representation from a stable following, however lack support to form government, e.g. Greens
What are micro political parties + example?
Micro parties are occasionally represented in parliament, usually by few members e.g. Justice Party
What are the types of pressure groups?
Very influential, moderately influential, less influential
What are very influential pressure groups + example?
Represent the interests of a significantly large group, have resources, and can easily reach lawmakers e.g. Business Council Australia
What are moderately influential pressure groups + example?
Influence depends on circumstances, and rely on publicity to have an impact e.g. Australian Conservation Foundation in 2020 bushfires
What are less influential pressure groups + example?
Limited influence due to niche cause and little support e.g. Australian Republic Movement
