Delegate Representation - representative reciprocates views of electorate (mouthpiece)
Trustee Representation - representative makes their own judgement on what’s best for their electorate
Partisan Representation - representative makes judgements based off party goals not electorate
Mirror Representation - In Senate, chamber mirrors society’s diversity
What are strategies used by the parliament when legislating?
Gag - Motion in House of Reps that cancels debate on a bill after its second reading
Guillotine - Motion passed to impose time limit on debate
Floodgating - Strategy where government impose lots of bills quickly to limit time for debate on each bill
