What is a photo system ?
Light collecting units of the chloroplasts
What are thylakoids ?
Sacklike photosynthetic membranes .
What is NADP+?
A carrier molecule that holds 2 high energy electrons.
What is a light dependent reaction ?
They produce oxygen gas and convert it into ADP and NADP+
What is the Calvin cycle ?
The cycle that uses ATP and NADPH from the light dependent reactions to produce high energy sugars .
What is a calorie?
The amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water to 1 degree Celsius .
What is the function of glycolysis ?
A pathway that releases energy.
What is cellular respiration ?
The process that releases energy by breaking down glucose with oxygen.
What is NAD+?
Holds two electrons until transferred into other molecules
What is fermentation ?
When oxygen is not present . Cellular Respiration awnser .
What is the Krebs cycle ?
When pyruvic acid is broken down into carbon dioxide.
What is the electron transport chain?
Uses high energy electrons from the kreb cycle to convert ADP into ATP.
