Q

What is a limit to cell growth ?

A

The larger a cell becomes the more demands the cell place on its DNA. So the cell would have more trouble moving nutrients and waste across the cell membrane.

Q

How do you calculate ratio ?

A

You have to figure out how many times the volume multiplies to equal the surface area. Example 24cm/8cm would have a ratio of 3:1.

Q

What is cyclin?

A

It is a protein that if in a non dividing cell it would cause a mitotic spindle to form.

16
Q

What are cancer cells ?

A

Cells that can not respond to the signals that regulate the growth of cells and as a result they grow uncontrollably and form masses of cells called tumors

17
Q

What are centrioles ?

A

2 tiny structures located in the cytoplasm near the nuclear envelope

18
Q

What is chromatid ?

A

One of the 2 identical sister part of a duplicated chromosome ?
