How is a Pulmonary Capillary Wedge Pressure received?
By a catheter
What causes the belly to be bigger, move diaphragm higher, and make it difficult to contract?
Accumulation of gas, fluid (Ascites)
What treats Pulmonary Edema?
PEEP or Lasix
What is a normal static Compliance?
70-100 mL/cmH20
About 50 mL/cmH20 on vent.
What disease affect Static Compliance?
Pneumonia, Pneumothorax, Pulmonary Edema, Pleural Effusion, Atelectasis, Air Trapping, Abdominal Distention, Hemothorax, Consolidation
What two points does Scalar Graphics give us?
Time and either Pressure, Volume, or Flow
What does the Upper and Lower inflection points indicate?
Upper: Alveolar overdistension
Lower: Appropriate PEEP
